US Deputy National Security Adviser Dalip Singh, who is on a visit to India, has said something that has drawn sharp criticism. He said India should not expect Russia to come to its rescue if China violates the Line of Actual Control, as China and Russia now have a “no limit partnership”.

India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Syed Akbaruddin has criticized Dalip Singh’s statement. “Then this is our friend,” he said in a tweet. It is not the language of diplomacy. It is the language of coercion. Someone tell this boy that unilateral punitive sanctions are a violation of international law.
