UN chief appoints Kailash Satyarthi as SDG advocate

United Nations, Sep 17 (PTI) Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kailash Satyarthi has been appointed as a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) advocate by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres ahead of the 76th meeting of the General Assembly. Guterres has appointed Satyarthi, STEM activist Valentina Rabanal, Microsoft President Brad Smith and K-pop superstar Black Pink as new SDG advocates. “We are at a critical stage,” Guterres said. The choices we make now can either push us towards a future crisis or lead us to a greener and safer world.
