After this, the US started spending its budget on the training of the Afghan army instead of taking action on the Taliban, and then this expenditure started decreasing. A senior Pentagon official told the US Congress that by the year 2018, annual spending had reached $ 45 billion.

How much did the total cost?
At the same time, according to the US Defense Ministry, $ 778 billion had been spent on Afghanistan from October 2011 to September 2019. In addition, the US Department of the Interior, along with the US International Development Agency and government agencies, spent $44 billion on the reconstruction project. That is, the total expenditure between 2001 and 2019 was $822 billion.

According to a 2019 study by Brown University, the US spent $ 978 billion on the war against the Taliban, including Afghanistan and Pakistan. It was added to the allocated fund for the year 2020.

How much do other countries cost?
Apart from America, Britain posted here spent $ 30 billion and Germany spent $ 19 billion. The US and NATO have pledged $4 billion every year to the Afghan military by 2024, despite the withdrawal of troops. So far NATO has delivered goods and equipment worth $72 million.
