Jaishankar talks to foreign ministers of many countries other than UNGA, will go to Mexico from America

New York, Sep 26 (PTI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will leave for Mexico on Sunday at the invitation of his Mexican counterpart Marcelo Ebrard Casabon. Jaishankar has held bilateral talks with foreign ministers of several countries on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that Jaishankar will make an official visit to Mexico from 26-28 September. During his first visit to Mexico as foreign minister, Jaishankar will participate in various programs marking the 200th anniversary of Mexico’s independence.

In addition to his meeting with Casabon, he will also meet Mexican President Manuel López Obrador and interact with key CEOs and the business community in Mexico, which is currently India’s second largest trading partner in Latin America.

Before leaving for Mexico, Jaishankar held bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of several countries. Jaishankar also held talks with Nepal’s Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka.

Jaishankar also held talks with Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mekonnen Hassan. Apart from this, he also discussed with the foreign ministers of Venezuela and Nicaragua. Jaishankar also discussed relations between the two countries with Kenya’s Foreign Minister Rachel Omamo. Jaishankar also held talks with Yemen’s Foreign Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak.
