The celebrations at Ground Zero in New York take place exactly two decades after the most horrific terrorist attacks on American soil, where one of the four hijacked planes crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.

“After 20 years, I admire those who persevered as extraordinary people,” said Mike Low, father of Sarah Low, who was the flight attendant.

The anniversary of the attacks is being celebrated amid the pandemic and the complete withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. Ironically, the same Taliban group that provided safe haven to the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks has now taken over Afghanistan after the US withdrawal.
