New York, Sep 11 (AP) The United States on Saturday celebrated the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and remembered those killed in the attacks, just weeks after ending the war in Afghanistan. The celebrations at Ground Zero in New York take place exactly two decades after the most horrific terrorist attacks on American soil, where one of the four hijacked planes crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. The anniversary of the attacks is being celebrated amid the pandemic and the complete withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. Ironically, the same Taliban group that provided safe haven to the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks has now taken over Afghanistan after the US withdrawal.
