Biden to launch comprehensive global partnership to address pandemic, climate change

Washington, Sep 19 (AP) US President Joe Biden is set to initiate a comprehensive global partnership at the United Nations to act quickly against the coronavirus pandemic, climate change and human rights abuses.

His initiative for a comprehensive global partnership comes at a time when allies are increasingly skeptical about how foreign policy has really changed since Donald Trump’s departure from the White House.

Biden is scheduled to meet UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday and address the UN General Assembly on Tuesday.

He is hosting an online COVID-19 meeting on Wednesday to advance commitments to the vaccine partnership, addressing oxygen shortages around the world and addressing issues related to the pandemic.

The President has also invited the Prime Ministers of Australia, India, Japan to Washington.
