‘You are running away from responsibility’, Rahul Gandhi lashed out at the media over Lakhimpur ruckus

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is adamant on his insistence on going to Lakhimpur even after being stopped by the Uttar Pradesh government. Along with Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, he is preparing to go to Lakhimpur Kheri. Earlier, while talking to the media at the Congress headquarters in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi said that we are raising our voice so that the government is under pressure. This is the job of the opposition and without it democracy cannot run. Not only this, on the question of doing politics on behalf of the media, he said that this is a wrong question.

Lashing out at the media itself, Rahul Gandhi said, ‘It is the responsibility of you people to raise the issue. But you guys are running away from responsibility. He said that this is your job and you do not take that responsibility. On the contrary, you people ask us the question that politics is happening. On the question of imposition of section 144 in Lakhimpur Kheri, Rahul Gandhi said, ‘Section 144 is applicable in Lakhimpur Kheri, it stops only 5 people. We are going 3 people. We have written them a letter. The job of the opposition is to create pressure so that action is taken.

Meanwhile, the UP government said that Rahul Gandhi has been denied permission to visit Lakhimpur Kheri. Lucknow Police Commissioner DK Thakur said that the government has banned Rahul Gandhi’s visit to maintain law and order. He said that if he comes to Lucknow, we will ask him at the airport itself not to go to Sitapur or Lakhimpur Kheri. He said that the DM and SP of both the districts told us that they should be stopped from coming to maintain law and order.
