In Chhattisgarh, the photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started to be removed from the vaccination certificate received during the vaccination campaign against Corona virus. In Chhattisgarh, people between 18 and 44 years of age are being given vaccines, now a certificate with the picture of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is being given. However, the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party has objected to this and said that the ruling Congress party is focusing more on photo publicity rather than vaccination. However, the state Health Minister has given clarification on applying the photo of Bhupesh Baghel in lieu of the photo of PM Modi with the vaccine certificate and also gave the reason.
Chhattisgarh Health Minister TS Singhdev said on Sunday that because the state government is bearing the cost of vaccination for people between the ages of 18 to 44, people are being given vaccination certificates in lieu of PM Modi with photos of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. He says that when the state government is bearing the cost of vaccination in this age group then why can’t it use the photo of his chief minister on the certificates.
Taking the photo of the Chief Minister in the certificate, the state Health Minister TS Singhdev said that the state government is bearing the cost of immunization of people in the age group of 18 to 44 years, so it is no longer the program of the center. When it has become the program of the state, there should be no objection to the photo of the Chief Minister of the state on the certificate. Singhdev said that the Center is providing funds for vaccination of people above 45 years of age. Certificates issued to the people of this category have been issued through the Kovin portal along with the photograph of the Prime Minister.
Explain that the state government has made its portal ‘CG Tika’ for the registration of beneficiaries who get vaccinated in the age group of 18 to 44 years. Those who have registered on this, are getting digital certificates with photo of Chief Minister Baghel. This portal has offline registration facility for those who do not have smartphone or internet facility.
Here, the BJP has accused the state government of focusing more on photo publicity rather than vaccination of people. Senior BJP leader in the state Brijmohan Agrawal said that the entire country is using the Centre’s app. This app is working well. But the state government has launched its app just for photos. It is also under the question of whether the certificates issued by the state government will be eligible for travel abroad.
Aggarwal said that the state government is playing with the lives of the people.
