Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has raised the bugle against Captain Amarinder in Punjab for the last two years, has been successful in removing him from the post of CM, but does not seem to be successful in his strategy. It is said that in the past amidst differences with Captain Amarinder Singh, he was also offered the post of Deputy CM, which he rejected. This clearly indicates that his ambition has been for the post of CM. But in the situation that has arisen now after the struggle with the Captain, even though he is seen defeating Amarinder Singh, but he is also seen to be missing in his strategy.

The Congress leadership has chosen Ramdasiya Sikh Charanjit Singh Channi as CM instead of all the veteran Jat Sikh leaders including Navjot Singh Sidhu, Pratap Singh Bajwa and Sukhjinder Singh. Political experts in Punjab say that there is a Dalit population of around 30 per cent in the state. In such a situation, the party has pushed Charanjit Singh Channi to deal with mutual factionalism and to solve caste equations. In this way, the party leadership may have found its way in Punjab, but it seems to be going against Sidhu.

Charanjit Singh is also considered to be the opponent of Captain Amarinder Singh.

Actually talking about Sidhu, it is a matter of satisfaction for him that Charanjit Singh Channi has also been opposing Captain Amarinder Singh. But it will not be easy for Sidhu to claim the CM post again. Look at the examples of other states also, it is easy to make a Dalit leader the CM, but removing it also has its own political disadvantages. In Uttar Pradesh itself, when the BJP, which brought Mayawati to power, distanced herself from her, she had to bear the loss. Political experts believe that if the Congress government comes back in Punjab, the credit can go to Charanjit Singh Channi as the state has a sizeable Dalit population.

If Congress is defeated in the election, the blame can be broken on Sidhu!

On the other hand, in the event of defeat, it can be blamed on Sidhu himself because there is a perception that due to his opposition, the captain’s departure has happened. In such a situation, if the result is not in favor of Congress in the coming assembly elections, then they can also come under target. It is clear that Navjot Singh Sidhu is seen winning against the Captain in this fight, but he himself seems to be lagging behind in his own race.
