Why are so many cases of corona coming in Kerala? Health Minister said – we are doing more testing, looking for every infected

Kerala has reported half of the total COVID-19 cases in the country in the last few days. The increasing cases of corona in the state have increased the concern. On Thursday, State Health Minister Veena George said that still more than 50 percent of the state’s population has not been infected. Here the delta variant of the corona virus is spreading rapidly. That’s why we are trying our best to rectify the situation.

The Health Minister said that ‘we are doing more and more tests these days. We have done more than 1.96 lakh tests on Wednesday. Today we have done 1.63 lakh tests. We are trying to do as many tests as possible everyday. We want to identify each and every corona positive case.

The Health Minister further said that ‘we want to identify all the positive cases because we want to reduce the number of cases and we also want to ensure that there is no third wave in the state. We want to keep the situation under control. That’s why we are doing more and more tests. That is why the number of positive cases is also coming to the fore today.

Let us inform that in view of the increasing cases of corona in Kerala, the Union Health Ministry has asked to send a team of six members to Kerala for effective management of Kovid-19. The team, led by National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) Director SK Singh, will reach Kerala on Friday and visit some of the districts where the infection rate is highest, the Health Ministry said in a statement.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted, “The Central Government is sending a six-member team headed by NCDC Director to Kerala. The team will support the state’s ongoing efforts in COVID management as the number of Covid cases in Kerala is still high. The team will work closely with state health officials, take stock of the ground situation and recommend public health interventions needed to contain the spread of the virus, a ministry statement said.

Let us inform that the daily cases of infection in the state are more than 17,443 on an average. The infection rate in the state is also the highest at 12.93 percent and the weekly rate is 11.97 percent. The weekly rate of infection in six districts is more than 10 percent.
