When the guard of Safdarjung Hospital hit the health minister with a stick, Mansukh Mandaviya told the story

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that in the past, when he went to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, he was beaten up by a guard while sitting on the bench. He told that this incident happened a few days ago when he had come to Safdarganj Hospital as a common citizen to conduct a surprise inspection.

Mandaviya told the story, the doctor was surprised

Everyone was shocked when Mandaviya disclosed this whole incident at the inauguration ceremony of four health related facilities at Safdarganj Hospital. Here he inaugurated four facilities including a new oxygen plant, a temporary hospital prepared for the treatment of corona.

‘No one to help patients’

Mandaviya told that in this surprise inspection, he also got to see the disorder in the hospital. He told that during this time an elderly woman of about 75 years in the hospital needed a stretcher for her son. But the security guards did not help in getting the stretcher to the woman and carrying the stretcher.

The arrangement should be such that the patients do not have trouble.

Mandaviya further said that the arrangements in the hospital should be made in such a way that the patients do not face any problem. If there are 1500 guards in the hospital, why can’t they help the elderly woman in carrying the stretcher. He directed that adequate number of security guards should be deployed in the emergency block.

What did PM Modi say on the incident?

Mandaviya also told that he had given information about this entire incident to PM Narendra Modi. So he asked whether he had suspended the guard who hit the stick? In response, the Health Minister said that no, because he wants to make the whole system better, not just one person.

On the other hand, Mandaviya appreciated the work done by the doctors in the treatment of corona and said that all the doctors should work as team work. He hoped that this hospital would serve as an inspiration to change its image.
