The recovery rate 83 percent:
The rate of people recovering from infection has fallen further. This is 83 percent. So far 1,40,77,870 people have been infection free. The death rate due to infection has come down to 1.1 percent. 2,760 infected have died in a single day in the country, of which 676 were from Maharashtra. According to ICMR, 27,61,99,222 samples were tested on Kovid-19 till 23 April, of which 17,53,569 samples were tested on Friday.
Nearly 74 percent of cases from ten states
The Union Health Ministry said on Saturday that about 74 percent of the daily new cases of Kovid-19 are from a total of ten states, including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. The ministry said that 12 states including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Bihar and West Bengal are witnessing an increase in daily cases of infection.
