Former Union Minister and senior leader Mukul Roy will contest from Krishna Nagar North and Rahul Sinha from Howrah. There are a total of 148 candidates in the list.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released the list of names of its candidates for the five to eighth phase of the West Bengal elections. The list was released by party general secretary Arun Singh at a press conference held in Delhi. According to this, former Union Minister and senior leader Mukul Roy will contest from Krishna Nagar North and Rahul Sinha from Howrah. The names of a total of 148 candidates have been announced in the list.

According to media reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the meeting held at the BJP headquarters on Wednesday till late in the night. After he left, Home Minister Amit Shah and National President JP Nadda continued to discuss the names of the candidates in the core group meeting with the leaders of Bengal till morning. As was decided, today the BJP announced the names of candidates for the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth phase elections in West Bengal. The names of a total of 148 candidates have been stamped. These include well-known footballer Kalyan Chaubey and folk music singer Aseem Sarkar.
