Virus re-attacking young corona patients? Learn what was revealed in the study of ICMR

It has often been said about the corona that it targets the elderly the most. But a new study has revealed that there are more cases of re-infection in young corona patients. A research conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and John Hapkings University found that the highest 79% cases of recurrence in corona patients in India were in the age group of 20-40 years. It is believed that more active activity of people in this age group may be the main reason for this.

According to this research, which is being published soon in the journal Epidemology and Infection, the study was carried out between January 22 and October 7 last year. It included 1300 people affected by corona infection. It has been found that 4.5% of these people, ie 58 people, suffered a corona infection again after a period of 102 days. However, this size of the sample is very small because of the 1,300 patients selected at that time, it is about 1.4 per cent of the seven lakh corona infected.

In this study, it was found that 76.3% of re-infections were found in men. Age was found to be between 20-40 years in 78.98 per cent of the cases. A large proportion of those who were re-infected were about 31.6 percent of the health personnel. The rest were ordinary people. Corona symptoms were not found in most people. Only 12 percent showed symptoms.

Based on this study, ICMR has concluded that recurrence cases are rare and can be avoided by following corona behavior. Let me tell you that the second wave of corona in India has been very fast and now the new cases that are being received daily have started to scare.
