Confirming this, Director General (Prisons) Sandeep Goel said that the Chandra brothers were shifted to Mumbai jails on Saturday. Goyal said that both Sanjay and Ajay Chandra were taken to Mumbai by train on Saturday morning under tight police protection. They reached Mumbai and were sent to the jails there early Sunday.

Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and Justice MR. Shah’s bench had said that the two reports submitted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) about the conduct of Sanjay and Ajay and the complicity of the jail officials raised “serious and distressing issues” regarding violation of orders and diluting the jurisdiction of the court. went.
In its order, the bench said that under these circumstances, we direct the shifting of both the accused – Ajay Chandra and Sanjay Chandra – from Tihar Jail to Arthur Road Jail, Mumbai and Taloja Central Jail, Mumbai.
The court asked the Delhi Police Commissioner to immediately initiate a personal inquiry into the conduct of the Tihar Jail officials in the case of collusion with the Chandra brothers and submit the report within four weeks.
