In the South Andaman district of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the administration has banned the sale of any kind of pan masala, gutkha etc. Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar, also falls in this district. District DM Sunil Anchipaka issued an order on Wednesday and decided to ban the manufacturing of pan masala and gutkha. Apart from this, there will also be a ban on storage, distribution and sale. This order has been issued for the next one month. The District Magistrate said that people in South Andaman have a habit of chewing tobacco, pan masala and then people also spit in public places.
He said that due to this, the risk of spreading corona infection also increases in the district. The DM said that action will be taken against those who do not follow this rule under sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Disaster Management Act 2005. Apart from this, fines will also be imposed on those who violate the rule. On Thursday also 25 new corona cases have been registered in Andaman and Nicobar. With this, the total figure has increased to 7,043. At present, there are a total of 143 active cases of corona in Andaman and Nicobar.
Out of these, 134 cases are in South Andaman district alone. There are three districts in Andaman and Nicobar, one of which is South Andaman. Apart from this two districts are North Andaman and Middle Andaman and Nicobar. Out of these, the most populated and urban area is in South Andaman district. Under this, Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar also comes. Let us tell you that health experts say that talking, spitting, sneezing and coughing also spreads corona infection. In such a situation, spitting can also prove to be dangerous for another person and there is a risk of spreading corona.
