The Tripura government has removed the District Magistrate of Agartala, Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav. He has been accused of misconduct during a wedding ceremony for violating the Corona Guidelines. This video of him went viral on social media. In a letter to Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar on Sunday, Shailesh Yadav requested him to be relieved of the charge of DM of Agartala, as he is being questioned about the incident.
Yadav wrote in the letter, “The Tripura government has constituted a high-level inquiry committee to investigate the incidents that took place on the night of 26 April 2021. For a fair inquiry, I relieved myself of the charge of DM of the Western District. I request you to do it. ”
Giving this information, Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, “The Chief Secretary accepted his letter and freed him from his post of District Magistrate. Ravel Hamdra Kumar, Director of the Department of Industries and Commerce, is currently in charge of the West District Magistrate. Has been given.”
Yadav stopped a wedding ceremony on the night of 26 April. During this time he is accused of misbehaving with the policemen, guests and Pandit ji present on the spot. He also forced the bride and groom to vacate the venue. This video of him went viral on social media.
Soon after the incident, the Chief Minister asked the Chief Secretary to submit a report on the incident and a committee of two IAS officers was constituted to investigate the matter. Initially, though Yadav had apologized, he told the committee that he had implemented law and order as per his duty to stop the spread of the corono virus.
