There is no such study about the havoc of children in the third wave: AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria


AIIMS director Randeep Guleria has dismissed the fears of havoc on children in the third wave of Corona. Talking to the media on Tuesday, he said that no such thing has been said in any Indian or global study that children are being affected more. Even in the second wave, the children who got infected had only minor symptoms. Apart from this, his severity had increased due to some other diseases. Giving hope of relief, the Director of AIIMS said that I do not believe that Corona will have any serious effect on children in future also.

At the same time, the Health Ministry says that the second wave of corona has weakened rapidly in the last one week. The Joint Secretary of the Ministry, Lav Agarwal said that the total recovery rate has increased rapidly to 94.3%. Apart from this, the positivity rate has remained only 6.3% during June 1 to 7. According to the Ministry of Health, there has been a decrease of 33 percent in new cases in the last one week. Apart from this, there has also been a decrease of 65 percent in active cases. Luv Aggarwal said that there are now 15 states in the country where the positivity rate has gone below 5 percent.

Let us inform that 86,498 new cases of corona have been found in the last one day. Compared to the peak of Corona last month, the number of new cases has come down by up to 79%. Apart from this, there has been a decrease of 33 percent in the total new cases last week. For the past one month, 322 districts have been witnessing a steady decline in new cases of corona. Let us tell you that many experts have feared the effect on children in the third wave. In such a situation, dismissing such apprehensions on the part of the Director of AIIMS is like giving big relief.
