Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik has once again supported the farmers protesting against the three new agricultural laws. Not only this, Satya Pal Malik warned his own government and said that if the farmers are not listened to, then this central government will not come to power again. Talking to reporters in Jhunjhunu on Sunday, Malik said that the resignation of Union Minister Ajay Mishra in the Lakhimpur Kheri case should have happened on the same day. On Mishra not resigning in the Lakhimpur Kheri case, Malik said, “This is absolutely wrong, in the Lakhimpur Kheri case, Mishra’s resignation should have been done on the same day.” He doesn’t deserve to be a minister just like that.
Malik said, ‘Those who have governments, their mood reaches a little in the sky. They do not see how much they are suffering, but the time comes when they have to see and listen. If farmers are not obeyed then this government will not come again. In response to another question related to the farmers, Malik said, ‘Atrocities are happening with the farmers, they have been lying for 10 months, they have left their homes, it is time for sowing crops and they are still lying in Delhi. The government should listen to them.
I will fight with the farmers even after leaving the post of governor
If he is asked to leave the post of Governor and stand with him, Malik said, ‘I am standing with him, there is no need to leave the post, when the need arises, he will also leave.. but I am with them. For them, I have quarreled with the Prime Minister, the Home Minister. I have told everyone that you are doing this wrong, don’t do this.’ He said that he will meet the Prime Minister and tell his views, whether it is about Kashmir or anything else. When asked why the government has not been able to convince the farmers till now. Malik said, ‘Look, whatever the governments are, their mood gets a little in the sky, they do not see how much they are suffering, but when the time comes, then they have to see and listen. This is what the government has to be. If the demands of the farmers are not met, this government will not come again.
‘No BJP leader can even enter my place’
What will be the impact of the farmers’ movement in the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh? In response to this, Malik said, let the people of UP tell whether there will be an impact or not, I am from Meerut and no BJP leader can enter any village in my place. Cannot enter Meerut, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar. On why the government is not able to understand about the farmers’ movement, Malik said, ‘Whoever has a government has a lot of pride. They don’t understand until the complete annihilation happens.’
Said- If someone tells me, I will get the farmers convinced by the MSP law
On the question of the central government being in arrogance, Malik said that ‘not he, those around him are giving wrong advice.’ On the question of mediation between the farmer and the government, Malik said that if someone tells me that you are the mediator. I will mediate, but the farmers have said that we are ready to accept, the government should also say it. There is one thing that will be solved. You guarantee the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Regarding the three laws, I will convince the farmers that these three laws are pending, leave it now.
