The CBI on Thursday filed charges against 60 accused in a special court in a multi-crore business scandal in Madhya Pradesh. The case relates to alleged fraud in a pre-medical test (PMT) conducted by the State Examination Board in 2011. Chargesheets of more than four thousand pages have been filed in the case. Prosecutor Bhushan Sharma said a special CBI court headed by Additional Sessions Judge Surendra Kumar Srivastava would begin hearing the case from January 26 on the directions of the apex court.
The apex court has directed that five accused should be tried at once. Sharma said the accused has been charged under Section 420 (fraud) of the IPC and other relevant sections and provisions of the Anti-Corruption Act. He said a notice would be issued to the five accused to appear in court together to record the statement of the accused.
