With the new cabinet of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi in Punjab, the Congress has presented the blueprint of the strategy for the assembly elections. The party has made it clear by betting on the youth in the government that it is in favor of generational change. At the same time, by leaving many old ministers, the party has set the trend for other states as well.

The Congress leadership has managed to retain its dominance by appointing Charanjit Singh Channi as the Chief Minister despite Captain Amarinder Singh’s rebellious attitude. The high command has made it clear that by not giving place to Captain’s close friends in Channi’s cabinet, it will not give much importance to the rebellious attitudes of senior leaders.

After the formation of the Modi government at the Center and the defeat in one election after another, the hold of the Congress high command had weakened. He was starting to face challenges within the party. But through Punjab, Rahul Gandhi has tried to restore that dominance. In such a situation, its effect will also be visible in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

In Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh too, the Congress has almost the same challenges as Punjab. Like the Captain, the Chief Ministers of these states want to retain their chair by claiming the support of more MLAs than their opponents. But the high command in Punjab has been successful in proving that the legislators will decide the leader at his behest.

According to a senior party leader, on the basis of this confidence, the Congress leadership has held several rounds of discussions with Sachin Pilot on the future strategy despite the displeasure of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan. In Chhattisgarh too, the party wants to end the dispute between Bhupesh Baghel and TS Singhdev.
