In Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, the police with their heavy-handed team has solved such a case, about which it is being discussed all around. People with knowledge of the case said that 700 hundred policemen were engaged to arrest the accused allegedly involved in the rape and murder of a four-year-old girl in Jaipur and more importantly, these policemen were given a chance to solve the case. It took only 20 hours.
Jaipur (Rural) Superintendent of Police Shankar Dutt Sharma, who led the team, said it was not an easy task. The accused, 25-year-old Suresh Kumar, did not even have a mobile phone, he said. Sharma said Suresh Kumar was on his way home when he saw the girl outside his house. He allegedly picked her up and took her to a secluded place near a pond about 5-7 km away and raped and killed her. He said that initially there was no clue.
Sharma said that even when hundreds of people had gathered to protest demanding the arrest of the accused, they were still under a lot of pressure. As a result, the efforts of 700 police personnel arrested the accused and solved the case in less than 24 hours. He said that the accused was constantly changing his whereabouts, but they coordinated with the local residents through a WhatsApp group and that also helped in his arrest.
The girl had gone missing on Wednesday and her body was found a day later. After this, people had protested a lot and were demanding the arrest of the accused.
