Tension rises again on Assam-Mizoram border, one civilian injured in police firing

Tension has increased once again on the Assam-Mizoram border. A Mizoram official on Tuesday claimed that the Assam Police opened fire on the citizens of Mizoram. One person has also been injured in this incident. Let us inform that in the last bloody clash between Assam Police and Mizoram Police, many people lost their lives.

Tension prevailed on the Assam-Mizoram border just 24 hours before Independence Day when some miscreants carried out a bomb blast at a primary school in Assam’s Hailakandi district on Friday night. The incident took place at Sahebmara LP Primary School. A similar blast took place in a primary school in Muliwala in February this year. Sahebamara LP School is located just two kilometers from the Assam-Mizoram border. The school was attacked with a grenade.

6 soldiers were killed in the firing

Significantly, on July 26 this year, there was firing on the border between the policemen between the two states. During this, six Assam Police personnel and one civilian were killed. On the other hand, 60 people including the SP of Cachar district were injured from the Assam side. Some people were also injured from the Mizoram side. After this, economic activities came to a standstill here for ten days. The supply of goods from the Assam side to Mizoram was stopped. Due to this, the prices of essential goods had increased in Mizoram. Later, after the intervention of the central government, both the states resolved the dispute.
