Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday withdrew his department from Telangana Health Minister E Rajendra on Saturday, a day after ordering an inquiry into allegations of land capture. Informed in the official statement, on the advice of the Chief Minister of Telangana, the Hon’ble Governor has approved the assignment of Health and Family Welfare Department from E Rajendra to the Chief Minister with immediate effect. Now Rajendra will be a minister in K Chandrasekhar Rao’s cabinet without a department.
It is noteworthy that Rao had directed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Friday to investigate the allegations of possession of land by Rajendra at Achampet, 55 km from Hyderabad. Reacting to the development, Rajendra told the media that it appears that this was done under a well thought out plan and that he would announce future steps after discussions with his supporters.
Rajendra said, I got information that the Chief Minister has taken back my department. The Chief Minister has the right to it. He has control over all subjects. It seems that this was done under a well thought out strategy. Will react after receiving all notifications. I was busy with the Kovid-19 epidemic.
A senior officer involved in the team investigating the land capture said that prima facie there has been an encroachment on that land. However, he did not elaborate on this.
