Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday termed as worrying the increase in the cases of Kovid-19 epidemic in the country and said that there is a need to speed up the pace of vaccination to avoid the severe impact of the epidemic in the next wave.
Rahul Gandhi appealed to the people to be careful and indirectly cited the National Monetization Pipeline (NMP) to allege that the central government is currently engaged in ‘selling out’. The Congress leader tweeted, ‘The increase in the cases of Kovid-19 is worrying. Immunization must be accelerated so as to avoid the severe impact of the pandemic in the next wave. Significantly, after 46,164 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in a day, the number of infected in the country increased to 3,25,58,530. At the same time, the number of patients undergoing treatment has increased to 3,33,725.
According to the Health Ministry, the death toll rose to 4,36,365 after 607 more people died of the infection. Currently, 3,33,725 people are undergoing treatment for corona virus infection in the country, which is 1.03 percent of the total cases. A total increase of 11,398 has been registered in the number of patients under treatment in the last 24 hours. The national recovery rate of patients is 97.63 percent.
