Sources said that Rahul and Priyanka had returned from Shimla and both boarded a flight from Chandigarh to Delhi on Wednesday evening. Jakhar also accompanied him on this journey. It is believed that Jakhar has been brought to Delhi to pacify him so that his rhetoric does not harm the party. Apart from this, soon he can be given a new responsibility. According to reports, Jakhar had also received an offer to become Deputy Chief Minister in Charanjit Singh Channi’s government but he turned it down. On Monday, Jakhar also attacked senior party leader Ambika Soni in gestures. Ambika Soni had given a statement that the CM of Punjab should be a Sikh leader. Earlier, Jakhar had also criticized Harish Rawat’s statement in which he had allegedly said that the upcoming elections in Punjab would be fought under the leadership of Navjot Singh Sidhu.

However, later the Congress party itself clarified this statement and said that the next election in Punjab would be fought under the leadership of both Channi and Sidhu.
