After Rahul Gandhi’s statement on the Central Government’s National Monetization Plan, Union Minister Smriti Irani has taunted him. Irani said that it seems that Rahul Gandhi did not listen carefully to the words of the Finance Minister. Had he paid attention, he would have known that the Finance Minister has made it clear that not a single property of the country will be sold. They will only be monetized and Rs 6 lakh crore will be added to the treasury of the country. It is worth noting that Rahul Gandhi had given a statement that the Prime Minister is selling the country.

So is the Congress government selling Maharashtra?

Smriti Irani reminded Rahul Gandhi that the Congress government in Maharashtra has raised an amount of Rs 8000 crore by monetizing the Mumbai Pune Expressway. The Union Minister said that will Rahul Gandhi say that the Maharashtra government has sold the expressway? She didn’t just stop at that. Attacking the former Congress president, Irani asked whether Rahul Gandhi would say that with such monetization the Congress government is selling the state of Maharashtra.

Question raised on Rahul’s politics too

Union Minister Smriti Irani also questioned the politics of Rahul Gandhi. Targeting Rahul Gandhi through a proverb, he said, “The politics of this man begins with hippocracy, progresses from arrogance and ends with accusations.” It is noteworthy that Rahul Gandhi, while criticizing the National Monetization Plan of the Central Government, had accused Prime Minister Modi that PM Modi is selling everything. He had said that this government wants to completely sell off whatever assets have been accumulated in the country in 70 years.

What is National Monetization Plan?

The National Monetization Plan was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday. Under this, the target is to raise Rs 6 lakh crore. Under this plan, there is a plan to monetize trains, railway stations to airports, roads and stadiums etc. Resources will be mobilized by involving private companies in the areas of this basic infrastructure. Apart from this, about 25 airports, 40 railway stations, 15 railway stadiums and many railway colonies across the country are also included in the National Monetization Scheme.
