Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman addressed a press conference after the BJP’s national executive meeting. He said the main objective of the meeting was to decide the party’s strategy ahead of the assembly elections in seven states to be held next year. Sitharaman said that we still remember that within 48 hours of the lockdown, our government had taken a historic decision and arranged free ration for 80 crore people.
The National Executive of BJP was organized in the capital Delhi on Sunday. In this, all the BJP leaders and Union ministers including PM Narendra Modi were present. This was the first time during the Corona period when all the leaders were invited to the BJP’s national executive meeting. After the meeting, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitamaran addressed the journalists. He appreciated the Center for various initiatives taken to mitigate the negative effects of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. “While appreciating the commendable work of vaccination done in India, we also remember how the opposition parties raised many questions on the vaccination done by the government from the very beginning,” news agency ANI quoted him as saying.
Sitharaman said, “Within 48 hours after the lockdown was announced, the government arranged free food for 80 crore people for the entire eight months. The ‘PM-Cares for Children’ program for orphans showed the world how PM Modi And our government takes care of them.He said that one nation, one ration card scheme was also implemented expeditiously.
The Union Minister spoke of the party’s commitment to justice for the victims of political violence in West Bengal. “We will stand by him during all legal proceedings and will support every BJP worker of the party in Bengal,” he said.
Kashmir moving from terrorism to development
Citing statistics, Nirmala Sitharaman said that terrorism-related incidents have come down in Jammu and Kashmir. ANI quoted Sitharaman as saying, “According to the figures, 2081 people died in terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir till 2004-14. While from 2014 to September 2021, only 239 civilians were killed in Jammu and Kashmir. This clearly shows. It is that after the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir is moving towards development works.”
He said, “We also discussed how elections to Block Development Councils and District Development Councils were held in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 and how people are willing to come out to participate in democratic processes. “
The Finance Minister said, “One figure I want to highlight – Rs 28,400 crore industry promotion scheme was launched for Jammu and Kashmir in January 2021. 54 projects worth Rs 56,201 crore have also been launched in Kashmir. Today Affordable medicines are being made available to the poor and middle class due to Jan Aushadhi Yojana and more than 75,000 health and wellness centers have been set up.”
