Sam D’Souza said that he helped KP Gosavi return money allegedly taken by Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani after Aryan Khan was taken into NCB custody on October 3 in the cruise drugs case. He said that when I realized that Gosavi was cheating, I helped Shahrukh’s manager to return the money.
He has said this in an interview with India Today. Earlier, Sam D’Souza, a business consultant, had said that five witnesses KP Gosavi and Prabhakar Cell had taken Rs 50 lakh from Pooja Dadlani. He helps KP Gosavi contact Pooja Dadlani to help Aryan Khan, from whom no drugs were recovered during the NCB raid.
Sam D’Souza said that Prabhakar Cell, KP Gosavi and Sunil Patil were involved in the alleged extortion. He said that, initially, he was aware that there was a meeting between Pooja Dadlani and KP Gosavi, but did not know that the money was taken.
Sam D’Souza said on Sunday, “When I came to know that Aryan has been arrested, I helped Gosavi and Patil get the money back. I will not comment on any NCB official. I will give my statement to Mumbai Police.”
How did Sam D’Souza get involved?
Sam D’Souza’s name has cropped up in the investigation of alleged extortion in the Mumbai cruise drugs case. It was alleged that NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede and others had demanded money for Aryan Khan’s release. Presently, the Vigilance team of NCB and Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Mumbai Police are probing the matter.
On the allegation of extortion, he said on Sunday, “I have nothing to do with it. I only knew Sunil Patil, who called me and informed me about the cruise party.
D’Souza claimed that Patil had asked him to approach NCB. D’Souza shared the contact details of an NCB official. He said that Patil informed him about KP Gosavi and another person Manish Bhanushali, who was contacting him in the matter.
Sam’s life in danger: Lawyer
Sam D’Souza’s lawyer, Advocate Pankaj Jadhav, said on Sunday, “We are seeking police protection for D’Souza as there is a threat to his life.” We want a complaint to be registered against SAIL, Gosavi and Patil.” Sam D’Souza has given his statement to the vigilance team of NCB probing the extortion case. He will also give his statement to the SIT of Mumbai Police on Monday.
