Relief: Serving of food can be resumed in flights of less than two hours

Meals may be resumed on flights less than two hours apart. The Union Health Ministry has shared the information after seeking inputs from the Ministry of Civil Aviation to amend the existing rules. According to sources, the Health Ministry has also said that the crew members in flight need not wear coveralls, but will continue to wear gloves, masks and face shields.

In view of the decreasing number of corona cases in the country, the government has started laxity in the rules. Recently, the Ministry of Railways stopped the movement of Kovid special trains and fares will also have to be paid as old. However, those traveling on Kovid special trains will have to travel only on the fares started during the Corona period.

Similarly, the aviation ministry has agreed to serve food on flights of less than two hours. The Union Health Ministry has made the information public after approval from the Ministry of Civil Aviation to amend the existing rules.

As of now, airlines are not allowed to serve food on flights whose duration is less than two hours. This ban came into effect from April 15 in view of the Corona epidemic. However, scheduled domestic flight services were resumed on May 25 last year following the lockdown imposed to contain the spread of coronavirus. During this, the ministry had allowed airlines to serve food during the journey under certain conditions.

According to sources, “The Ministry of Health has now informed that serving of food can be resumed on flights of less than two hours duration and crew members are not required to wear coveralls, but gloves, masks and face shields.” Must continue to wear.”
