Republican Party of India (RPI) National President and Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has invited Captain Amarinder Singh, who resigned as the Chief Minister of Punjab, to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Athawale, a minister in the Modi government, told Amarinder Singh that he should leave the Congress which has humiliated him. Athawale said that good works can be done to bring NDA to power in next year’s assembly elections.
Talking to news agency ANI, Ramdas Athawale said, ‘I want to ask Captain Amarinder Singh what is the use of being in a party that has humiliated you. I request him to leave the Congress party and join the NDA led by Narendra Modi. He further said that everyone has equal respect in NDM. Amarinder Singh can do good work in bringing the NDA to power in the paw. Let us inform that on Sunday, Charanjit Singh Channi was elected the leader of the Congress Legislature Party in Punjab. Channi will take oath as the new Chief Minister on Monday.
Athawale justified Amarinder’s allegations about Sidhu
The Union Minister further said, ‘When Sidhu went to Pakistan, it was a serious matter that Imran Khan hugged Bajwa, Amarinder Singh is right, Sidhu is a fraud.’ Let us inform that Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday resigned from the post of Chief Minister amidst the ongoing resentment in the Punjab Congress. Amarinder tendered his resignation ahead of a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party convened by the party leadership. Amarinder Singh has also held the responsibility of the President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee from 2010 to 2013.
