Businessman Raj Kundra came out of jail on Tuesday after getting bail for making porn movies. He was lodged in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail for the last two months. A jail official said that Raj Kundra was taken out of the jail at 11:30 am. On Monday itself, a Mumbai court had allowed Raj Kundra’s bail application, ordering him to deposit a bond of Rs 50,000. Apart from Raj Kundra, his employee and co-accused Ryan Thorpe was also granted bail by the court on Monday. Both were arrested on 19 July itself.

Raj Kundra and his associate are accused of making porn movies and sharing them on some apps to earn money. Raj Kundra, who is lodged in Arthur Road Jail, is the husband of Bollywood’s famous actress Shilpa Shetty. The police had arrested him in many cases including serving obscene material, violation of the IT Act. Raj Kundra had given his bail application on Saturday after the chargesheet was filed by the police in this case. Raj Kundra, in his application through advocate Prashant Patil, had said that the police had failed to provide sufficient evidence regarding the allegations against him.

Said in the bail application, the police is making me a scapegoat

He said that there is no evidence of his active role in producing porn films and uploading them on the app. Kundra said that he was forcibly implicated in this case and even his name was not mentioned in the FIR. He said that he has been made a scapegoat in this case. Why has this been done? Only the police can give detailed information about this. Patil had argued in favor of Kundra, saying that not a single allegation against Kundra has been explicitly made in the police charge sheet.
