The trouble of Punjab Congress seems to be ending now. During the meeting between Navjot Singh Sidhu and Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday, chemistry was seen, it seems that all is well in Punjab Congress. Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Congress’ Punjab unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu on Tuesday said they will work together and fight the next elections together. There was some disagreement between the two leaders over some appointments. This information was received from party MLAs.
The two met each other at a meeting of party MLAs and other senior leaders called on Tuesday evening to discuss election strategy. The meeting was called on a day when former state chief minister Amarinder Singh resigned from the Congress and announced the name of his political party. Both the leaders looked united during the meeting.
Senior Congress leader and in-charge of Punjab affairs Harish Chaudhary was also present in the meeting. In this meeting, the party tried to show that there is no difference between Channi and Sidhu and the party will fight the elections unitedly. After the meeting, Sidhu told reporters, ‘All is well (everything is fine).’ Earlier in the day, Sidhu, Channi and Chaudhary had gone to Uttarakhand to offer prayers at the Kedarnath temple.
Channi, Sidhu visited and worshiped Kedarnath
Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Punjab Pradesh Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu on Tuesday visited Kedarnath and offered prayers. Channi and Sidhu, who reached Kedarnath along with other leaders from Punjab, visited Baba Kedarnath and took his blessings by offering prayers. Before leaving for Kedarnath, Channi, Sidhu and other leaders also met the party’s former in-charge of Punjab affairs Harish Rawat at his Dehradun residence.
Later, Rawat, when asked by reporters about the meeting, said that all is well in Punjab Congress and Congress will win the assembly elections there. He said, ‘Now the whole world is watching and I had already said that ‘All is well now’ in Punjab. We are facing the challenges that are there. Rawat said he was confident that this situation would continue and under the guidance of (Punjab in-charge) Harish Chaudhary, this situation would lead us to victory in the elections. He said that only Congress will win in Punjab.
