The Delhi government has ranked its 14 departments on the basis of redressal of complaints related to pollution, with East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) ranked first, Public Works Department (PWD) second and South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) It is in third place in this list.
These departments were divided into two categories, first those that had received more than 100 complaints through the ‘Green Delhi’ app and the second which had received more than 1,000 complaints. For the ranking, the performance of the departments till August was analyzed.
According to officials, the performance of the departments was assessed on the basis of three parameters, including the number of complaints disposed of, the quality of resolution and the time taken. Here the quality of complaint resolution means whether the resolution has taken place in a proper manner or whether the complaint has been reconsidered.

According to government data, no department could resolve the complaints within the stipulated time frame. The five departments that received more than 1,000 complaints are North Delhi Municipal Corporation, South Delhi Municipal Corporation, East Delhi Municipal Corporation, Public Works Department and Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
In this list, East Delhi Municipal Corporation stood first by getting 58 marks out of 100. It received 3,436 complaints, out of which it resolved 3,423 and 90 per cent of those complaints did not require further action.
PWD resolved 4,630 out of 4,771 complaints received by it and stood second with 56 points. On the other hand, South Delhi Municipal Corporation disposed of 5,622 complaints out of 5,877 and stood third. The North Delhi Municipal Corporation resolved 5,527 out of 6,040 complaints, while the DDA resolved 1,300 out of 1,536 complaints.
On the other hand, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) topped the list with 62 points out of 218 complaints received in more than 100 categories. With this, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which came second in this category with 58 points, disposed of 164 out of 166 complaints. Delhi Jal Board (DJB) secured the third position with 55 marks, disposing of 551 out of 569 cases.
Revenue Department and Central Public Works Department (CPWD) were the worst performing departments with 45 and 42 marks respectively. The Revenue Department resolved 226 out of 247 complaints and 76 of them were reopened. CPWD disposed of 183 out of 261 complaints out of which 99 were reopened.
