PM Modi tweeted, “Tomorrow 10th August is a special day for India’s development path. Ujjwala 2.0 will be started in Mahoba, UP by giving connections to the people at 12:30 pm. Will also interact with the beneficiaries of the scheme. Since its launch, Ujjwala has brought dignity to the lives of our citizens, especially women. In August 2019, the target of eight crore connections was met seven months ahead of the stipulated deadline.”
On Sunday, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) had informed in a statement that the Prime Minister would launch the second installment of the scheme on August 10. The statement said, “During the launch of Ujjwala 1.0 in 2016, a target was set to provide LPG connections to five crore women members of BPL families. Subsequently, the scheme was expanded to include seven more categories of women beneficiaries.
“Provision of additional one crore LPG connections under the scheme was announced in the Union Budget for the financial year 2021-22. The objective of these additional connections is to provide free PG connections to the low income families who are covered under the first phase. Couldn’t be done.”
This time minimum papers will be required for connection. The special thing is that this time you do not need to provide ration card or any address proof to take advantage of this scheme, you just have to give self declaration, through which you will get the benefit of this facility. Along with this, the first refill and hotplate will also be provided to the beneficiaries free of cost.
