New Delhi (Loksatya). For the first time in more than two months, petrol and diesel prices were increased on Tuesday. According to Indian Oil Corporation, the country’s largest oil marketing company, petrol in the national capital Delhi today was costlier by 15 paise to Rs 90.55 per liter. The price of diesel increased by 18 paise to Rs 80.91 per liter.
For the first time since February 27 this year, the prices of petrol and diesel have been increased. Meanwhile, their prices were reduced on 24 March, 25 March, 30 March and 15 April, while the prices were remaining the rest of the day.
Petrol in Mumbai and Chennai became expensive by 12-12 paise and sold for Rs 96.95 and Rs 92.55 per liter respectively. In Kolkata, its price increased by 14 paise to Rs 90.76 per liter.
Diesel became costlier by 17 paise in Mumbai, 15 paise in Chennai and 17 paise in Kolkata. It was priced at Rs 87.98 in Mumbai, Rs 85.90 in Chennai and Rs 83.78 per liter in Chennai.
The price of petrol and diesel is reviewed every day and based on this, new prices are applied every day from six o’clock in the morning.
