New Delhi (Loksatya). Petrol price was increased by 25 paise and diesel by 27 paise per liter in four major metros of the country. Petrol price has crossed Rs 92 per liter for the first time in Delhi and Kolkata. Diesel in Mumbai also touched close to Rs 90 per liter.
According to Indian Oil Corporation, a leading oil marketing company, petrol and diesel prices in the national capital today rose by 25 paise to Rs 92.05 and Rs 82.61 per liter respectively. Petrol in the national capital has crossed Rs 92 for the first time. Petrol has become costlier by Rs 1.65 and diesel by Rs 1.88 in Delhi since May 04. In these nine days, prices have increased for seven days while two days are staying.
Petrol price increased by 24 paise in Mumbai and Kolkata and 22 paise in Chennai. A liter of petrol was Rs 98.36 in Mumbai, Rs 93.84 in Chennai and Rs 92.16 in Kolkata.
The price of diesel rose by 27 paise to Rs 89.75 in Mumbai, 24 paise to Rs 87.49 in Chennai and 25 paise to Rs 85.45 per liter in Kolkata. The prices of petrol and diesel are reviewed daily and based on this, new prices are applied every day from six o’clock in the morning.
