New Delhi (Loksatya). Petrol and diesel prices were increased again on Friday after a day’s stay. In the four major metros of the country, the price of petrol was increased by 29 paise and the price of diesel by 36 paise. These days, the prices of both fossil fuels are at historical highs and new records are being made every day.

Diesel in Delhi has also reached close to Rs 83 per liter after today’s increase while in Mumbai it crossed Rs 90 per liter for the first time. Petrol in Chennai reached above Rs 94 per liter for the first time.

According to Indian Oil Corporation, a leading oil marketing company, petrol price rose by 29 paise to Rs 92.34 and diesel by 34 paise to Rs 82.95 per liter in the national capital today. So far in Delhi, petrol has become costlier by Rs 1.94 and diesel by Rs 2.22.

Petrol prices in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata went up by 29 paise, 25 paise and 28 paise respectively. A liter of petrol sold for Rs 98.65 in Mumbai, Rs 94.09 in Chennai and Rs 92.44 in Kolkata.

The price of diesel rose by 36 paise to Rs 90.11 in Mumbai, 32 paise to Rs 87.81 in Chennai and 34 paise to Rs 85.79 per liter in Kolkata.

The prices of petrol and diesel are reviewed daily and based on this, new prices are applied every day from six o’clock in the morning.
