The official said the incident took place at Vanbora Primary Health Center in Kapasikopari village where a national pulse polio vaccination program is being conducted for children between the ages of one and five. Shri Krishna Panchal, chief executive officer of Yabatmal district council, said 12 children under the age of five were given two drops of sanitizer instead of polio drops. The children complained of vomiting and restlessness.

He said the children who were given drops of sanitizer were admitted to the hospital. The condition of all the children is located and they are being monitored. According to preliminary information, a doctor, an Anganwadi worker and an Asha worker were present at the primary health center at the time of the incident. An investigation has been launched and three health workers will be suspended.
