OBC reservation bill may be introduced tomorrow, BJP issues whip to MPs

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday issued a three-line whip for its party’s MPs in the Rajya Sabha. In the whip, party MPs have been asked to be present in the House on August 10 and 11. At the same time, BJP has appealed to its Lok Sabha MPs to be present in the House on Tuesday. Actually, this whip has been issued by BJP regarding OBC Reservation Bill. The government introduced this bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday. It can be introduced in the Rajya Sabha as soon as it gets the green signal from the Lok Sabha. This bill has also got the support of the opposition.

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr Virendra Kumar introduced the ‘Constitution (127th Amendment) Bill, 2021 relating to Other Backward Classes’ in the Lower House. During this, Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that today all opposition parties met and decided that the said bill should be discussed in the House. He said that we want to pass this bill related to the welfare of Other Backward Classes. “We understand the responsibility of the opposition. All the opposition parties decided that it should be discussed and passed. The backward class of the country is concerned with this bill.

Kharge said – our support to the bill

15 major opposition parties, including the Congress, met on Monday as Parliament reached the end of the monsoon session to discuss the way forward and decided that they would participate in the discussion on the amendment bill related to the Other Backward Classes (OBC). And will give full support to get it passed. Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said, we will all support this amendment bill. Our demand is that this bill should be introduced and discussed and passed at the same time. “Other issues have their place, but this issue is in the interest of the country as it is related to more than half the population. We will fully support it.
