After receiving the emergency use approval of the World Health Organization, India has started diplomatic initiatives to get the vaccine certificate recognized in as many countries as possible. For this, talks are going on with those countries where the vaccine certificate will be mutually recognized. For this, the Ministry of External Affairs and India’s diplomatic missions abroad are in constant touch with their counterparts.

According to the news of the Economic Times, these efforts have accelerated after the World Health Organization recognized the covaccine made by Bharat Biotech. Along with this, the exercise to get the vaccine recognized in many countries is also going on. It is believed that after the decision of the World Health Organization, the number of countries that have recognized the vaccine may increase.

Apart from Australia, countries that have recognized the vaccine include Mauritius, Oman, Philippines, Nepal, Mexico, Iran, Sri Lanka, Greece, Estonia and Zimbabwe. From November 8, the US will also allow travelers who have taken both doses of the vaccine. The new US travel rules also accept passengers taking both doses of Pfizer-Biontech, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Covishield, Sinofram and Sinovac vaccines.


So far, seven countries, Hungary, Serbia, Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, Palestine, Mauritius and Mongolia have mutually decided to recognize the vaccine certificate. The number of such countries may increase as talks continue.

So far, more than 20 countries have allowed Indians who have been fully vaccinated without quarantine entry, but in most of these, only Kovishield has been recognized.

In the recently concluded G-20 countries conference, India had proposed mutual recognition of Kovid-19 certificates. After this, global leaders had decided that they would start international travel again, accepting each other’s corona vaccine certificate.
