Congress General Secretary and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat told the media on Friday that his entire focus is on the Uttarakhand assembly elections. It is being told that the party high command can remove him from the post of Congress in-charge in Punjab. However, Harish Rawat avoided the question of resigning from his post. In a conversation with the media, Harish Rawat targeted the BJP government at the Center for the turmoil in the Punjab Congress. He warned Capt Amarinder Singh not to become a mask of BJP.

During the media conference in Dehradun on Friday, Harish Rawat spoke on many issues. Harish Rawat said that his entire focus is on the upcoming Uttarakhand assembly elections to be held next year. Let us inform that Harish Rawat is presently in-charge of the Congress in Punjab, besides the President of the Uttarakhand Congress Election Committee. Apart from this, there is also a strong leader in the state Congress. Harish Rawat can also be the chief minister’s face from the Congress side in the upcoming assembly elections.

Harish Rawat said that the responsibility entrusted to him by the Congress high command is being followed honestly. However, he avoided the question by resigning from the post of Punjab Congress in-charge. In a conversation with the media, Harish Rawat blamed the central government for the earthquake in the Punjab Congress. Rawat said that he warns the BJP central government not to try to topple the majority government of Punjab. Harish Rawat’s warning comes at a time when former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh recently met Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

On the tussle between Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Navjot Singh Sidhu, he said that some solution will be found to the problem and talks between the two leaders have progressed in a positive manner. Rawat cautioned Amarinder Singh not to become a mask of the BJP. He said he was shocked by the Captain’s statement in which he spoke of his “insult”. “It was expected from Amarinder Singh that he would give strength to Congress and Sonia ji in challenging times,” he said. However, when asked whether the Congress would make any effort to bring back Amarinder Singh, Rawat refused to comment on the issue.
