The Delhi government has notified Black Fungus as a disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act amid fast growing Black Fungus (Mucoramycosis) cases in Delhi. Lt. Governor Anil Baijal has also issued rules on black fungus under the epidemic act in view of the danger of black fungus on Thursday.
According to the notification issued by the Delhi government, from now on, all the hospitals will definitely give information about each suspected and confirmed cases of black fungus to the health department. In addition, all hospitals will also comply with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health to detect, investigate and treat blanc fungus infection.

As per the notification, the new rule states that no person, institution or organization shall disseminate any information or material for the management of black fungus without the prior permission of the Department of Health. Whoever violates the rules relating to Black Fungus shall be deemed to have committed an offense under the relevant Section 188 (Disobedience of the order duly declared by the public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and took strict legal action against Will go.
Significantly, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain on Wednesday said that till May 26, there have been around 600 cases of black fungus or mucomycosis, of which more than 200 were reported on May 23 alone.
