New variants of the virus are proving to be a major threat in the second wave of the Corona epidemic. On one hand, scientists of the country are trying to find a break of the double variant B1617 of Korana. At the same time, another new variant has been detected which is ten times more infectious. Teams of researchers from Hyderabad and Ghaziabad have detected this new variant N440K. It is believed that due to this new variant, Corona infection has seen a great boom in many parts of the country.
Researchers said that this variant was first found in Kurnool city of Andhra Pradesh. It is also being called AP variant. Now this variant is spreading rapidly in many parts of the country including Andhra and Telangana. Researchers claim that out of all the new cases in Andhra and Telangana during the second wave, one third of these cases have come due to this variant and it is continuously spreading. In the last two months, 50 per cent of the country’s cases have come from only four states – Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana and Chhattisgarh, indicating that this variant has spread to these areas.
Patients reaching critical condition in three to four days
Scientists at Hyderabad’s Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and Ghaziabad’s Academy for Scientific and Innovation Research (ACSIR) said that due to this new variant, people are reaching critical condition within three to four days. It is seen that the new variant is developing soon. Its incubation period and the timeframe for spreading the disease are short. It is spreading very fast as well as infecting more people.
Increasingly engulfing young people
In the second wave of Corona, new variants are increasingly making people sick. Scientists are very concerned about the variant of the N440. Because much information about it has not been revealed yet. It is increasingly targeting young people with the virus. It is also infecting those people who are very cautious about fitness. Also, immunity is very strong. Due to this, cytokine storms are coming in people’s bodies.
