According to the health ministry, over 300 children in Kerala were infected with Multi-System Inflammatory Syndrome-in Children (MIS-C), (a post-Covid complication) in the last five months. Of these, 4 died. MIS-C has emerged as a new concern for Kerala, which has been witnessing a spurt in Covid infections for more than two months. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday asked parents to seek immediate medical help if their children show symptoms of MIS-C. “The disease is curable, but if it is ignored, it will become difficult,” he said.

Experts said that MIS-C is a post-Covid disease in children who showed symptoms of fever, abdominal pain, red eyes and nausea three-four weeks after recovery from the corona virus. According to the state health ministry data, till now 10% of all the state population infected with Kovid-19 consists of children below 18 years of age, while most of the MIS-C infected cases are children below 15 years of age. Huh. The first MIS-C case was reported in March this year at the Government Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.

The Kerala government has decided to impose night curfew from Monday to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Saturday. The curfew timings will be from 10 pm to 6 am.
