The Navy Commander’s Conference to prepare the future strategy is starting in Delhi from Monday, which will continue till October 22. During this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will also address the naval commanders. The conference will be addressed by the Chief of the Air Staff as well as the Chief of Defense Staff.
Indeed, the conference serves as an institutional forum for naval commanders to discuss important maritime matters at the military-strategic level, as well as for interaction with senior government officials. The importance of this conference has increased manifold due to the rapidly changing geo-strategic situation of the region. It is an institutional forum to deliberate, guide, formulate issues and take decisions on issues of high importance, which will shape the future policy of the Navy.
The Navy has seen a significant increase in its operational activities over the years in line with India’s growing maritime interests. Naval ships on mission based deployment in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) are ready to respond quickly to any evolving situation. Naval ships stationed in Aden and the Persian Gulf continue to provide security for trade from these regions.

A statement from the Navy said that strategic preparedness, operational issues, changes taking place in the forces will be discussed in the Commander’s Conference. Also, the major operational, material, logistics, human resource development, training and administrative activities undertaken by the Navy in the last few months will be reviewed. Plans for future important activities and initiatives will be discussed.
