Muthoot Group chairman MG George died after falling from fourth floor

According to media reports, 71-year-old MG George lived in the East of Kailash in Delhi. He was also ill for some time. He was rushed to the hospital at around 6.58 pm on Friday evening, where doctors declared him dead.

The death of MG George Muthoot, chairman of Muthoot Group, is due to the fall from the fourth floor. MG George fell down from the roof of his house at around 9 pm on Friday. It was earlier reported that he died due to a fall from the stairs. Now the matter of falling from the fourth floor is coming to the fore. Whether it is an accident, a suicide or a conspiracy, the police is now investigating it.

MG George Muthoot was the third generation member of his family to hold the post of chairman of the Muthoot Group. The company is the country’s largest gold loan non-banking financial company (NBCFC). Forbes magazine’s list of the rich released last year included six Malayalees, of which George Muthoot was also one.

He was also a trustee of the powerful Orthodox Church in Kerala and a member of the National Executive Committee of FICCI. Muthoot is survived by wife Sarah George and two sons. His eldest son George M. George is the executive director of the group, while the youngest son Alexander is the director of the George Group. Middle son Paul Muthoot George was murdered in 2009.
