According to the Meteorological Department, a rainy alert is on in Marathwada, Vidarbha and other areas of the state from 20 to 23 March. In such a situation, the life of the farmers hangs in the balance. Meanwhile, the unseasonal rains in Ukada have increased the hardships of the farmers.
In Jalaun district, there is hailstorm with rain. Hassanabad, Talegaon, Surangali areas received heavy hail with strong winds. Due to this hailstorm, crops have suffered a lot. The rains in Marathwada have led to confusion among the farmers. The forecast of the Meteorological Department is expected to cause light rain with thunderstorms in Akola, Amravati and Gondia districts.
The rains also lashed the district with strong thunderstorms and strong winds. Hence, the Rabi crop will also be damaged along with the gardens in the area. In some parts of Latur district, there was light rain with thunder in the middle of the night. The Meteorological Department said that due to climate change, Marathwada and central Maharashtra including Vidarbha are expected to receive rains with strong winds from March 20-23. Earlier on March 18, Nagpur, Pune and other cities received rains. Rain was also given in some other parts of Maharashtra. But the unseasonal rains in the drought-prone areas have further aggravated the farmers’ woes.
