On this occasion, people come by immersing the idol of Lord Ganesha kept in their house in the river canals. There have been reports of accidents during immersion from many places in the country. Many people who went to immerse the idol of Lord Ganesha from Mumbai and Barabanki area of UP died. Five children drowned in Mumbai, of which two are still missing. At the same time, a total of five people including a woman and two children have drowned in UP. Apart from this, there is also news of two people missing after the boat capsized in Haryana.
Five children drowned in the sea in the Versova beach area during Ganpati immersion in Mumbai on Saturday. Regarding the incident, the Mumbai Fire Brigade said that the local people immediately rescued the two children and took them to Cooper Hospital for treatment while the search for the three children is still on. Rescue work is being done at the spot.
The fire brigade department said that rescue operations are being carried out by Life Boy and Manila Rope, Flood Rescue Team using ferry boats in and around the drowning area through LED lights to find three more children. Police boat’s help has also been sought to find the three children. The floodlights of the jetty have also been kept on keeping in mind the rescue work.
Woman’s body found in UP
A major accident took place in Barabanki, UP on Sunday. Five people, including a woman and her two sons, were washed away in the strong current of the river during Ganesh idol immersion at Bhohra Ghat of Kalyani river in Saadatganj town of Masauli police station on Sunday. This caused a stir. Police deployed divers in search of people who were drowned in the river. After a lot of effort, the body of the woman was taken out. SP and MLA reached the spot. He directed the police to intensify the search for the drowned people. The body has been sent for post-mortem. NDRF team was also called late in the evening.
