Lakhimpur Violence: Congress adamant on the dismissal of the Union Minister, said- arrest the son

After the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh, the opposition has been adamant on the demand for the removal of the Minister of State for Home. The Congress on Monday demanded immediate sacking of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra and the arrest of his son named in the FIR by the Uttar Pradesh Police after eight people died. Along with this, the party has demanded a compensation of one crore rupees each to the families of the farmers killed in the violence. Congress has said that Priyanka Gandhi, who was kept in custody by the UP Police, should also be released immediately.

The Congress said it would hold protests outside the offices of all district magistrates across the country on Tuesday to protest against the incident. Congress leaders protested outside the UP Bhawan in the national capital and agitated elsewhere in the country. Congress leader and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Union Minister Ajay Mishra should be immediately sacked from his post and his son should be arrested immediately.

Demand to register a case against the minister

He further said that we also demand that the minister should be booked for the same crime as his son, as he is trying to save him. Let us inform that Priyanka Gandhi, who tried to reach Lakhimpur late in the night, was taken into custody in Sitapur around 5 am. Priyanka Gandhi has said on Twitter that the BJP government is doing the politics of crushing the farmers and eliminating them.

At the same time, Rahul Gandhi tweeted and said, ‘Priyanka, I know you will not back down – they are scared of your courage. In this non-violent fight for justice, we will make the country’s Annadata win. In a video message, Priyanka Gandhi has alleged that this country belongs to farmers and not BJP and she is not committing any crime by going to the people affected by the violence.
